Where to Place Your Dumpster: Driveway, Street or Yard

Driveway placement

The most common choice. We lay boards under the rails to spread the load, but be aware that any driveway with existing cracks or soft asphalt in summer heat carries some risk.

Street placement

Many Northern Kentucky municipalities require a right-of-way permit for a container in the street. Covington and Newport in particular enforce this. Check before delivery day.

Yard placement

Possible on firm, dry ground, but a loaded roll-off truck weighs a great deal and will rut soft turf. We will tell you honestly if the ground looks marginal.

Clearance requirements

Plan on about 60 feet of straight approach and 23 feet of overhead clearance. Low branches and utility lines are the most common delivery obstacles.
